Smart Tags

Report writers - ouch. Nobody likes to build reports. Smart Tags are as powerful as they are easy to use, and you don't have to learn a complicated reporting language.

Put the smarts back in your reporting.

Because Smart Tags are constantly updated, that you never have to go and re-generate a report. Simply pull up your Smart Tag, and all the data is already up to date, automatically.

Reverse Reporting

"Reverse reporting" is a Donor Tools exclusive trick that shows you a list of all the smart tags that a donor belongs to. This way, you can see which reports a person would come up in if you were to run that report, without actually running the report.

For example, if you have a Smart Tag to keep track of LYBUNTS (donors who have given Last Year But Unfortunately Not This year), you'll see that a donor is a LYBUNT without having to run the LYBUNT report - it will simply show up as an orange Smart Tag on their record.

With Smart Tags, you can see which smart tags apply to a particular donor. If you see a smart tag listed in a donor's page, then you know that donor will show up when you run that report. It's an amazingly useful shortcut that you'll wonder how you ever lived without.

ROFT (Regular Old Fashioned Tags)

Notwithstanding the power of Smart Tags, sometimes it's nice to be able to quickly tag someone (or a bunch of someones) with an arbitrary tag. Someone attend your golf tournament? Tag it.

Tags are like categories, except that you can have as many as you want, and you don't have to set them up ahead of time. Tags can be used to group your donors in any way that makes sense to you.

Donor Tools puts the "smart" back in reporting, and gives you the power to group your donors any way you want.
